with VSA arts of Florida during its Annual Conference & Career Fair.
Art will be on display and available for purchase by conference
attendees.
VSA arts of Florida, founded in 1981,
is a member of the international network of VSA arts, an affiliate of the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. VSA arts of Florida provides
arts, education, and cultural opportunities for and by people with disabilities
through a network of program partners in 45 Florida counties. In 2006-2007,
VSA arts of Florida programs in inclusive settings directly served 55,000
individuals with disabilities and 150,000 other participants.
VSA arts of Florida programs include
artist residencies for students and adults with disabilities and youth at
risk, professional development for teachers on how to successfully increase
learning in and through the arts, professional development for cultural
organizations on how to increase access to their galleries and performances,
and professional development for adult artists with disabilities on how to
prepare for a successful career as an artist. In addition VSA arts of Florida
showcases statewide 15 major exhibitions of art work created by adults and
youth with disabilities.
